The maximum blood alcohol content allowed for probationary drivers is 0.2 g/l. Since the minimum age to obtain a light vehicle driving license is 18, a 20-year-old driver has, at most, two years of driving experience, and is therefore necessarily in the three-year probationary period. For this reason, they are considered under the influence of alcohol if they present a rate equal to or greater than 0.2 g/l. The rates of 0.3 g/l or 0.5 g/l do not apply to this situation. The 0.5 g/l limit is the general rule for experienced drivers who have already completed the probationary period, while the 0.3 g/l rate does not correspond to any legal limit established for the definition of driving under the influence of alcohol.
