In coexistence zones, designed for shared use of public roads by pedestrians and vehicles, the maximum speed allowed for any vehicle is 20 km/h. This rule applies to all drivers, regardless of the type of vehicle they are driving, including heavy goods vehicles with trailers, to ensure the safety of the most vulnerable users. The limits of 50 km/h or 30 km/h are not applicable in these special zones. Although 50 km/h is the general speed limit within localities for certain vehicles, coexistence zones always impose a more restricted and safer limit of 20 km/h.
