The correct adjustment of the rearview mirrors allows for the best possible visibility of traffic behind and to the side of the vehicle. However, mirrors cannot cover all areas around the motorcycle; there are always so-called blind spots. For this reason, the rider must always perform a direct observation, by slightly turning their head, before initiating any maneuver. The statement that mirror adjustment dispenses with direct observation is incorrect, as this would seriously compromise road safety by ignoring blind spots. Additionally, adjusting the mirrors so that their visual field almost entirely coincides is incorrect, as it reduces the total visible area and impairs the perception of lateral space.
