The digital tachograph is an electronic recording device that replaced the analogue tachograph in heavy vehicles. For its correct functioning and to record the driver's activities, the use of an individual driver card is mandatory, which is inserted into one of the device's slots. The driver disc is made of paper and is exclusively for analogue tachographs, not being compatible with the digital model shown in the image. The driving license, although it is a mandatory document for driving the vehicle, does not have the necessary technology to be inserted or record data directly into the tachograph.
