The driver may use the left side of the carriageway to perform an overtaking maneuver. This is because the longitudinal road marking closest to our vehicle is a broken line, which allows its transposition for maneuvers, provided that safety conditions are met. Using the left side is not permitted as a normal driving position, as the general traffic rule states that driving should be done as close as possible to the right edge of the carriageway. It is also not permitted to use the left side to stop; any stopping or parking must be done on the right side in the direction of travel.
