In case of a vehicle lighting failure at night, driving should be avoided. However, if the failure occurs while driving, it is permitted to drive with the hazard warning lights on only for the strictly necessary time to immobilize the vehicle in a safe stopping or parking place, minimizing the risk to other road users.It is not permitted to continue driving normally just because the public road is well lit, as the vehicle's lights also serve to signal its presence to other drivers. On the other hand, immediate stopping on the roadway can pose a serious danger to traffic, so the vehicle should be driven to the nearest safe place instead of immobilizing it immediately in the middle of the road.
