In narrow passages where vehicles cannot cross and the distances to the point where crossing is feasible are identical, the duty to reverse is determined by the category of the vehicles involved. Since our vehicle is a light vehicle and the oncoming vehicle is a heavy vehicle, it is up to the driver of the light vehicle to perform the reversing maneuver.Proceeding is not the correct attitude, as we would be disrespecting the rule of yielding passage between vehicles of different categories. The order of arrival at the narrow passage also does not serve as a tie-breaking criterion in this situation; the rule based on vehicle category always prevails.
