Children under 12 years old and under 135 centimeters tall must, as a general rule, be transported in the rear seat of the vehicle. However, the legislation provides exceptions to this rule, one of which is if the car does not have seat belts in the rear seats, thus allowing transport in the front seat with the appropriate restraint system. The other options are incorrect because occupying the rear seat with cargo or the existence of longitudinal rear seats do not constitute legal exceptions that authorize the transport of children under 12 years old in the front seat.
