This distance depends directly on the driver's reaction time, which is strongly influenced by their physical and psychological state. The consumption of alcoholic beverages increases reaction time, causing the driver to take longer to react and, consequently, the vehicle travels a greater distance before starting to brake.On the other hand, the vehicle's braking system and the road's profile are factors that influence braking distance, i.e., the space covered after the brake pedal is pressed, having no direct influence on the driver's reaction time or distance.
